Designer, Mihara Yasuhiro’s AW13 collection was shown under the arcades of the Palais Royal to the sound of traditional Japanese Taiko drumming.
Chinpira - that means punk in Japanese - was the inspiration for Miharayasuhiro this season. But look up ‘punk’ and you’ll find that the word used to mean ‘gangster,’ and that rang much truer with the story Mihara was telling on his catwalk - a tough, menacing gangster vibe in black and grey monotone, embroidery and snakeskin, crocodile and Japanese pattern. A punk statement by the designer, styled by Robbie Spencer.
For this collection Mihara collaborated again with HOSOO represented in subtle and tone-in-tone embroidery to full python-patterned suit and matching puffer vest.
